I am a FYW instructor at Eastern Michigan University, a graduate student in Literature and the Teaching of Writing, and a former high school English and history teacher. As I negotiate this field of rhetoric and composition, I find myself drawn particularly to the areas of digital humanities and writing pedagogy. It seems to me that we are at a point in time where we have the opportunity to create widespread change in the way we view the teaching of writing at both the secondary and the post-secondary levels. This blog represents my attempt to make sense of the field and discover ways that I can use this knowledge to become a better instructor and a better writer.
